Staff Report

XENIA, Greene County —

Xenia police have arrested two men they said attempted to steal multiple vehicles.

Police said a white Ford Econoline was stolen Tuesday morning from 411 Cincinnati Avenue after the driver left it running while it heated up.

A short time later, a 2008 Suzuki Forenza was reported stolen from 555 Chestnut St. The officer responding to the call spotted it and attempted to pull the vehicle over.

The suspects attempted to get away from police but crashed the vehicle and fled on foot. They were arrested a short time later after being found hiding in an abandoned vehicle at an abandoned property on Eavey Street. A gun holster was found inside the crashed vehicle, police said.

With the assistance of a K-9 Unit from Greene County Sheriff's Office, a handgun was found in a wooded area near the suspects.

Police said the two men may be connected to other crimes in the Stelton Road area.
