CAESARSCREEK TWP., Greene County —

A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital after he was ejected in a rollover crash on Hussey Road, according to troopers.

Troopers said Wilhelm Bales, of Jamestown, was ejected through the sun roof of his car after he allegedly drove off the right side of the road at a high rate of speed. Bales struck a ditch and rolled the vehicle before it came to a stop in a field, troopers said.

According to troopers Bales was not wearing his seatbelt when the crash occurred on Hussey just east of West Beal Road.

CareFlight was initially dispatched to the crash around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, but was later cancelled.

After the crash medics first transported Bales to Greene Memorial Hospital, but he was later flown by medical helicopter to Kettering Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, according to troopers.

Troopers believe Bales may have been coming home from a friends house, where family members told authorities he had been playing video games.

The crash remains under investigation.
