Detective William Ring said the man got away with a free Porsche from the White Allen European Auto Group earlier this month.

"(The man) has actually obtained a Louisiana driver's license, and the information on the driver's license belongs to an actual person, however he has replaced that person's photograph with his own," Ring said.

By using the fake identification, police said the man got loan approval through five different dealerships in Miamisburg, Cincinnati and Fairfield, Ohio. Officers said the value of the cars total more than $100,000, and they believe the thefts could be part of a larger criminal enterprise.

"Ultimately we may discover that there are other dealerships out here where he has pulled this scheme," Ring said.

Those at White Allen said the man seemed like a normal customer when he pretended to purchase the 2004 Porsche Cayenne.

"This was a regular customer who had a real ID and had all the correct information on the customer credit report," said Rick Sloan.

Sloan said the bank that approved the loan notified the dealership when the payments never arrived.

"The address (he gave us) belonged to a clubhouse of an apartment complex down in Cincinnati," Sloan said.

Investigators said Beachmont Ford in Cincinnati and Jeff Wyler Nissan in Fairfield are among the other dealerships already targeted.

Besides the $31,000 Porsche, the man is said to have walked off with a $44,000 2006 Landrover, a 2006 Hummer H2, a 2008 Ford F350 and a 2009 Nissan Maxima. Police said each car was issued a temporary license plate tag.
