Man Charged In Piqua Bank Robbery

PIQUA, Ohio —

Police in Piqua said they have charged one person in connection with a mid-afternoon bank robbery in their city. He is identified as 34-year-old Matthew Niblick of Piqua. He was booked into the Miami County Jail in Troy at 5 o'clock Tuesday evening.

The robbery happened around 2:20 p.m. at the Chase Bank at the intersection of Ash and Spring streets.

Police say that no weapon was used, and all the money taken was recovered.

According to police, tips led them to a house on Manier Avenue, where officers found the getaway car. However, the suspects were not located there.

Officers said the suspects were found a short time later about two miles from the Manier Ave. address at the north edge of Piqua in a house on Dixie Highway out in the county. A second man taken from the Dixie Highway address to the police department in handcuffs was later released and not charged.
