Man Gets 20 Years For Running Drug Cartel

XENIA, Ohio —

A man accused of running a major drug cartel in Greene County is headed to prison.

A judge in Xenia sentenced Sheldon Smith to 20 years in prison for his part in the cocaine trade in the county.

When Smith was arrested in May 2008, agents found 42 kilograms of cocaine that had a street value of $5 million.

Investigators said the drogues were shipped into the area from California.
