Victim of fatal crash identified

GREENE COUNTY, Ohio —

A man was killed on South River Road and State Route 72 near Clifton on Saturday night when his motorcycle crashed and landed in a ditch. State Troopers on the scene said the driver may have been taking a curve too fast before he crashed.

Troopers said Gerald W. Freeze, 49, of Springfield was not wearing a helmet when his bike went off the road and hit a ditch, throwing him off the bike.

Freeze''s family came to the scene. According to his brother, he was the president of  Death Motorcycle Club in Springfield.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The victim's name has not been released.
