Man makes purchase, shot leaving store

DAYTON —

A man had just made a purchase at a convenience store on the corner of East Third and Philadelphia streets, when two men approached him and opened fire, police said.

Officers responded to the area of the 2700 block of East Third around 3 a.m. Friday after the man was reportedly shot once in the arm, police said.

The victim told police two black men wearing all black clothing approached him in an alley about a half-block east of the store. The suspects attempted to rob the man and one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the victim, striking him in the arm, according to officers.

Medics transported the victim to Miami Valley Hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Police are still searching for the suspects and the shooting remains under investigation.
