Man suffers head injury in assault

DAYTON —

A Dayton man was taken to the hospital early Tuesday morning after being pistol whipped.

The man told police he was approached by two unknown males as he was walking along Stewart Street. The victim told police one of the males told him “You know what it is; give it up,” according to a police report. The victim said he did not know what he was referring to, and the last thing he remembered was being hit in the head with a handgun.

The victim said he lost conscious and later woke up on the sidewalk. He said nothing was missing, and he didn’t have anything for the suspects to take.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with a head injury.
