Troy T. Sherman is facing charges in connection with the robbery of a Dayton woman.

DAYTON —

Police have arrested a suspect in an assault and robbery at 2605 Riverside Dr. Friday night.

The suspect, Troy T. Sherman, is facing charges of aggravated robbery and criminal trespass after a woman claimed he broke into her apartment, assaulted her, and stole her property.

Investigators said that Annette Simmons, 52, was visibly injured when they arrived. She said Sherman came into her apartment and started “acting aggressively” toward her. She claimed he punched her at least 10 times in the face and also hit her knees. Police said Simmons suffered facial injuries, broken teeth, and numerous lacerations.

Simmons said Sherman stole $80.00, her food stamp card, and may have damaged her cell phone.

Police took Sherman into custody early Sunday morning.
