WASHINGTON TWP., Ohio —
The robbery happened at the First Financial Bank on Miamisburg-Centerville Road around 10:30 a.m.
Deputies said a man walked into the bank, handed a teller a note and indicated that he had a gun, even though one was never shown. The robber managed to get away with an undetermined amount of cash.
Maj. David Hale said, “He made a verbal claim that he possessed a weapon. A weapon was not seen.”
A K-9 unit was brought in to help track the robber, but he was not found.
Miamisburg-Centerville Road is heavily traveled on a daily basis. “I’m sure there’s people who drove past it not knowing what they were observing,” Hale said.
Deputies said the man is most likely 50-60 years old. They said he was wearing an Army-style hat and sunglasses. Investigators said the man put the money into an accordion-style folder.
If you have any information about who the robber is, contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
