Mentally Disabled Teen Sexually Assaulted

DAYTON, Ohio —

Dayton police are questioning a suspect in connection with the sexual assault of a mentally disabled girl.

Officials said the 18-year-old wandered away from home Sunday afternoon on West Third Street.

Witnesses reported seeing the teen picked up by someone in a white work van in the area of Antioch and West Second Street.

She was later found in the K-Mart parking lot in Trotwood and told police that she had been sexually assaulted by the driver of that van.

Lt. Brian Johns of the Dayton Police Department said, "Great police work. We matched the description of the vehicle and the description of the suspect given by our victim and a witness."

Officers said the victim was checked out at a local hospital.
