Miami Co. Fire Destroys Family Business

COVINGTON, Ohio —

Authorities said an early-morning fire destroyed a family business in Miami County on Saturday.

Officials said the flames could be seen from miles away southwest of Covington on Falknor Road.

Firefighters said the wood shipping pallet manufacturing and repair business was owned by Lowell Kuntz comma of Covington.

The fire was first reported by deputy Lee McCartney around 2:48 a.m. The fire was also reported to Miami County 911 from the control tower at Dayton International Airport after it was seen by an aircraft.

Firefighters from Covington, Pleasant Hill, Bradford, Ludlow Falls, Laura, West Milton and Gettysburg all responded to blaze. They had to shuttle water from the village of Covington to the fire scene.
