WEST MILTON, Ohio —

A  mother formerly from West Milton told a judge Monday afternoon that she is a "good parent who has made a lot of  mistakes." Frances Cooper, 45, now living in Franklin in Warren County was in Miami County Common Pleas Court in Troy to be sentenced on two counts of child endanger.

Cooper was charged by West Milton Police for providing alcohol, marijuana, cigarettes and sex with teenage boys as young as 13 in her apartment on South Miami Street in West Milton back in the fall of 2011.

Judge Christopher Gee called her behavior "appalling."

He placed Cooper on probation for 3 years, and said if she violates that probation Cooper is facing 17 months in the Ohio State Reformatory for Women in Marysville on both charges.

The surprise came at the end of the court hearing when the Judge acted on a request from the Assistant County Prosecutor Tony Kendell for some jail time for the mom.

Judge Gee ordered her to 30 days in the Miami County Jail. When defense attorney Chris Bucio asked the judge when should Cooper report to the jail, Gee said immediately.

Cooper was handcuffed and escorted by the court bailiff from the courtroom.

Cooper is the mother of 6 children, three in their 20's and three between the ages of 8 and 15.
