Two dead after Monday crash on I-75

Staff Report

MORAINE, Ohio —

Two people died as a result of the two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 Monday that shut down the roadway for more than an hour, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

Maura James, a 21 -year-old-woman from Trotwood, and 38-year-old Amy J. Venticinque of Warren, Mi., both died as a result of their injures, the coroner’s office said.

Northbound I-75 was closed near the Dryden Road exit for about an hour and a half after a southbound car traveled left of center and struck another vehicle.

Four were injured as a result of the crash, according to Lt. Phil Sinewe of the Moraine Fire Department. The crash was reported around 12:30 p.m., and all lanes were reopened by 2 p.m.

One was transported from the scene by CareFlight, and three were taken from the scene by ambulance. Recent rainfall may have played a part in the crash, according to reports.
