Montgomery A Suspect In Another Holdup

BROOKVILLE, Ohio —

We have new information about the man police say tried to hold up a Brookville bank on Monday.

Ryan Montgomery, 24, was charged Tuesday with robbery. He is behind bars on a $50,000 bond. Montgomery was arrested after police say he tried to rob the Fifth-Third Bank on Wolf Creek Pike Monday afternoon. Now police say he is a suspect in another bank robbery.

In Monday's holdup, officers said Montgomery handed the teller a note demanding money, but when the teller yelled at him, Montgomery left empty-handed. After he was arrested, Montgomery told News Center 7 that the bad economy forced him to try and rob the bank.

Now we've learned that police in Lewisburg are looking at Montgomery as a possible suspect in a bank robbery earlier this month in their community.
