MORAINE, Ohio —
Moraine officials are now working with plant managers to see what needs to be done to secure a new line of vehicles at the assembly plant.
Union officials said the news that they are getting from GM is not good. GM is asking for the Moraine plant to make drastic changes. Workers would have to agree to concessions and they would have to compete against other plants in order to get a new line of vehicles.
Moraine officials told NewsCenter 7 Friday morning that they are planning a trip to Detroit to talk with GM officials about keeping the Moraine plant open.
GM asked the IUE to turn in a proposal by March about what concessions the union would agree to.
GM has about 4,000 workers at the Moraine Assembly Plant.
