Vendors face challenges in providing enough food at the DNC

By Erica Bryant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The change of venue for the Democratic National Convention to Time Warner Cable Arena on Thursday created challenged for trying to feed the crowd.

WSOC-TV in Charlotte noticed issues earlier in the week with concession at the arena, vendors were running out of food.

Organizers said Thursday morning that they may lighten rules to allow people to bring in their own food, but that plan was changed. People were told they could not bring food into the arena and if they had drinks in their hand, they needed to finish them or throw them out before they came inside.

People are supposed to be able to purchase food inside the arena. Vendors hoped they would have enough food for Thursday.
