Judge sets Zimmerman's new bond at $1 million

WFTV

SANFORD, Fla. —

Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester set George Zimmerman's new bond at $1 million on Thursday.

Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old  Trayvon Martin, but claims he shot Martin in self-defense.

Zimmerman’s original bond was revoked last month after Lester ruled Zimmerman and his wife were untruthful about their finances.

Zimmerman is still in protective custody at the Seminole County Jail.

"He wants out. He wants to be able to be with Shellie. He's very worried about his wife. We'll deal with it no matter what the judge's ruling," said Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O'Mara.

During his second bond hearing on Friday, O'Mara argued his client should get out of jail because he's neither dangerous nor a flight risk.
