NEW LEBANON —

Nearly 3,000 Dayton Power and Light customers in Montgomery County were without power early Tuesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a pole.

According to officials, a SUV was traveling southbound on Clayton Road around 2:35 a.m. when the driver failed to negotiate a turn. The SUV hit a large rock, then a telephone pole, snapping the pole in half.

The crash caused a power outage in the Village of New Lebanon, and about half the village was without power for about 30 minutes, according to reports.
