SPRINGFIELD, Ohio —

Law enforcement agencies in Clark County got together Tuesday to talk about a new system aimed at helping protecting the public during a major disaster.

A news conference was held in Springfield, where authorities discussed the Ohio Law Enforcement Response Plan Database.

A representative from Homeland Security for the state of Ohio gave details of the database. He said it could be activated in case of a major natural disaster such as a flood or a tornado in the state.

He said it could also be utilized in case of a riot. The software would notify the chiefs of each village or city in the state and would instantly give emergency responders a list of the manpower each agency could send to help.
