New Parking Garage Opens At Dayton Airport

DAYTON, Ohio —

If you like flying out of the Dayton Airport, life may have just gotten easier, or at least, the parking did.

On Thursday, the airport opened a new parking garage.

Officials at the airport said a covered walkway is one of the main selling points of the new parking garage. It is less than 300 feed from the doors of the ticket counters to where you park your car.

The project has been in the works for years.

Walter Krygowski Interim Director of Aviation said, “We were one of the very few points across the country that did not have covered parking.”

Airport officials said the opening of the parking garage starts a new chapter in Dayton air travel.

Krygowski said, “Truly, our passengers, our customers utilize our facility to have a public parking facility.”

At the ceremony on Thursday, city and airport officials celebrated the opening of the $37 million facility, complete with two new fountains.

Officials said there are more than 140 original pieces of artwork from third and fourth graders from 22 local schools that are being showcased in the stairways.

There are 1,400 parking spots available on the second and third floor.
