No evidence of explosion in Franklin fire

FRANKLIN —

Firefighters are investigating an early Monday morning fire at 827 Park Ave. The alarm came in around 1:50 a.m., and was originally described as an explosion and fire.

Franklin fire officials said there was no evidence of an explosion. Most of the damage was at the rear of the structure.

A neighbor said that the man who lived in the house died about a year ago. She said that people have been going into the vacant house and stealing things since that time. She added that the man’s van had been stripped. It is still parked at the house.

The fire broke out across the street from a house which burned twice over the summer. There is no indication the fires are related.

No one was injured.
