DAYTON —

Police made two OVI arrests in a Saturday evening checkpoint on Gettysburg Avenue and Kings Highway.

The checkpoint ran from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Officers said 787 cars went through. Twenty-three cars were diverted, and four were checked for OVI.

In addition to the OVI arrests, one person was arrested for an outstanding warrant and one was arrested on a misdemeanor drug charge.

Police cited four drivers for driving under suspension, five for driving without a license, and two for seat belt violations. There were two child safety seat violations, and one booster seat violation.

Police also conducted a saturation patrol around the checkpoint.

They cited seven people for driving under suspension, two for driving without a license, and one for a child safety seat violation.

They said there were 21 other violations, including an outstanding arrest warrant. There was also a traffic crash investigation, they said.
