TROTWOOD —
One person was hurt early Saturday morning in an accident on West Third Street (U.S. 35) just west of Snyder Road.
Police said the vehicle was eastbound on West Third Street when the driver fell asleep. They said the driver had the cruise control on.
He went off the left side of the road, and hit a power pole which snapped in half. The vehicle then came to rest against a tree, according to investigators.
The accident knocked down some power lines, and Dayton Power and Light was called in to make repairs.
Officers said wet roads combined with lower temperatures made roadways slick. Trotwood police said they had more accidents than usual overnight because of those factors.
Investigators said no alcohol was involved.
Medics checked the driver at the scene, and he was not transported to the hospital.
