TROTWOOD —

A man is recovering at a local hospital after rolling his SUV off the road in Trotwood.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Wolf Creek Pike in Trotwood. Officers said it was dark and that the driver was going over the speed limit on a lot of curves.

Police said they received several 911 calls from the Catalpa Grove Mobile Home community after the GMC Envoy crashed.

According to officers, the driver flew off the right side of the road, into an electrical pole, skidded across a driveway and right into a large tree, knocking it halfway down.

The SUV then bounced down onto a parked car, shattering the back windshield.

Aaron Davis said he heard the crash. "When I came out here, it was on its side. They guy was out and walking around."

Davis said he saw a cut on the man's hand. He said the man apparently lifted himself out of the passenger side.

Firefighters and medics arrived and treated the man. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officers then began to retrace the man's path.

"We get so many people coming around this curve. We call this Deadman's Curve. People fly around it all the time," Davis said.

The crash remains under investigation.
