DARKE COUNTY, Ohio —

One person is dead after an early Saturday morning rollover crash. It was discovered around 6:19 a.m. in the 7400 block of Grubbs-Rex Road near Arcanum.

Darke Co. Deputies said that the rolled over SUV was spotted by a passing motorist in a farm field on its side. Officers are not sure how long the crash has gone unnoticed. The closest neighbor to the scene said he heard nothing overnight.

Deputies identified the driver as Joseph S. Brandenburg, Jr., 43, of Arcanum.  He was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Brandenburg's vehicle went left of center and off the road, hit a culvert and went airborne, investigators said.

He was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected. The vehicle also clipped a utility pole.  The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
