Over 100,000 Attended Kettering Holiday At Home

 

KETTERING, Ohio —

It was the 51st year for the Kettering Holiday at Home parade and festival on Labor Day, one of the longest standing traditions in the Miami Valley.

People started arriving with floats for the parade before 5 o'clock Monday morning and those who wanted to have a great seat along the parade route were setting up their lawn chairs before daylight.

The parade closed Far Hills Avenue south of Stroop Road and Stroop Road,both east and west of Far Hills Avenue for most of the morning.

There were140 floats in this year's parade which is about 30 more than past years.

The Parade has been an annual event since 1959 and this year's theme is 'Say It With Music."

Organizers expected over 100,000 spectators for the event, which also included a 5k race and a car show.
