Pair arrested for stealing vehicle, vagrancy

DAYTON —

During a check of vacant properties on Xenia Avenue, police found two people hiding in a closet who are suspected of fleeing from officers in a stolen car.

Brian Moore, 31, and Jennifer Milligan, 23, were arrested at 6 p.m. Tuesday at a vacant home in the 700 block of Xenia; they face potential charges of receiving stolen property and occupying a building illegally, according to a Dayton police report.

The pair were found hiding in a second floor closet by two officers who were doing a routine sweep of vacant properties that attract vagrants, according to the report.

Police said the two matched descriptions of suspects who fled from a traffic stop in a stolen vehicle earlier that day.

Additionally, Moore is wanted by authorities in Richland and Greene counties and may have violated his parole, police said.
