Pedestrian Fatally Struck Overnight

HARRISON TWP., Ohio —

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out who was driving a van that hit and killed a man Saturday night.

Harrison Township deputies were dispatched to 2250 Wagner Ford Road minutes before 11 p.m on a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. At about 11:30, they found an 18 year old man lying dead in a parking lot at 3450 Susannah Avenue, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said.

The victim was identified as Michael Addy, Jr., 18, of New Lebanon by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.

Witnesses told deputies Addy was hit by a full sized van that fled the scene. Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a 1991 Dodge Ram Van, on Embury Park Drive and detained the registered owner.

The crash remains under investigation.
