Pitbull Attack Sends Girl To Hospital

A pitbull attacked a 12-year-old girl running home in Dayton Sunday, sending her to the hospital, according to police reports.

The girl, her sister and a friend were running down the 300 block of Middle Street when the dog attacked her. Police said the dog’s owner came out and had to beat the dog off the girl.

She was taken to Children’s Medical Center with a leg injury and had to undergo surgery, according to police. The dog is being quarantined and the animal’s owner was cited for not licensing the dog.
