Police Continue Intense Investigation Into Bus Stop Rape

DAYTON, Ohio —

The investigation into the rape of a 13-year-old Dayton girl continued Thursday. Police said they have questioned several people but have not suspects.

Now, frustrated neighbors are demanding answers and more police protection.

Police held a news conference Thursday afternoon and assured residents and family that they are doing everything they can to find the man who allegedly committed the rape.

The girl told authorities that she was raped on Monday morning while she was waiting for the bus near the intersection of Euclid and West Fifth Street. She said she was dragged into an alley and raped while the man held a knife to her throat.

Investigators said they have stepped up patrols in the area and are encouraging parents to take precautions. Police said the girl has identified a man from a photo spread. Now, they are trying to find that man.

Police believe the rape was an isolated case and are trying to quickly find the man and put him behind bars.

The suspect is described as an African-American male about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. They also said the man has no front teeth.

If you have any information about this case, contact Dayton police at 333-COPS.
