DAYTON, Ohio —

A teenager, already serving time in prison for a Kettering rape, has now been linked to another rape attempt in Dayton, police said.

James Ward, 15, appeared in court Thursday morning to answer to the new charges.

Ward was already serving a 20-year sentence and is now facing a new charges for an alleged attempted rape in the parking lot of Taggerts on Patterson Road.

Ward was arraigned Thursday morning on charges of attempted rape, felonious assault, gross sexual imposition and abduction.

Investigators said DNA linked Ward to the rape attempt in the parking lot of Taggerts in September of 2005.

Police believe Ward waited behind a dumpster in the parking lot and attacked a woman as she left the pub. On Thursday morning, a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

The judge set Ward’s bond at $500,000. He remains behind bars.
