RIVERSIDE —
Three people are in custody after police stopped their vehicle on U.S. 35 near Infirmary Road in Dayton, and police believe the suspects may have played a role in multiple thefts near Townsend Place, according to reports.
A Riverside officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle in the area of U.S. 35 and Woodman Drive and began following it, once reaching Dayton, additional officers from the Dayton Police Department joined in following the vehicle, eventually stopping it on the highway, according to reports.
Multiple residences reported thefts in the area of Townsend Place and Fredonia Drive early Friday morning, dispatchers said.
Police recovered items that were inside of the vehicle and brought them back to Riverside police headquarters, where a homeowner was asked to identify the items, but the items recovered were not the items taken from his home, according to reports.
Officers are still investigating the locate where the recovered items may have been taken from.
The three people police took into custody are Charles Craig, 36, David Mullins, 52, and James King, 43. All three are booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of theft and criminal trespassing
