DAYTON, Ohio —
The name of the suspect has not been released, but officers expect him to be charged with felonious assault.
Dozens of people called 9-1-1, after hearing gunshots in the Highland park area near St. Nicholas Ave. One man was shot 8 times.
Witnesses said a second victim was shot in the leg, but he left the scene in an SUV.
A woman named Angel said, "We've been trying to keep this area violence-free, drug-free. It's scary and bothers me a lot."
Police are not releasing the name of the man who was shot eight times. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and is expected to survive.
