The Huntington Bank location on Arlington Road in Brookville was robbed Thursday morning.

BROOKVILLE —

Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a Brookville bank Thursday morning.

A man wearing sunglasses and gloves walked into the Huntington Bank in the 700 block of Arlington Road in Brookville around 10:30 a.m. and passed a note to the teller demanding cash, according to police.

Police Chief Douglas Jerome said the man indicated that he had a gun, but did not display one. No one was injured during the robbery.

Witnesses were able to provide police with a detailed description of the suspect who reportedly ran towards a nearby Speedway and jumped into the passenger seat of a waiting truck. That truck then sped off at a high rate of speed, nearly causing an accident according to witnesses.

One driver thought the man’s actions were odd and followed the truck. That person reported to police that the truck got on Interstate 70 but then got off at the Lewisburg exit, Jerome said.

The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 25 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He has reddish brown hair and was wearing a tan or brown Carhartt brand jacket with a green hooded sweatshirt underneath.

The truck he got away in has been reported stolen out of Anderson, Ind. It is a 2001 blue Chevy S-10 pickup with license plate 51179.

Anyone who sees that vehicle or individual is asked to contact Brookville Police by calling the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center at 225-4357.
