Dense fog advisory for the Miami Valley

MIAMI VALLEY —

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. for the entire viewing area, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek.

Morning fog and drizzle will give way to rain as the afternoon arrives. Rain will slowly move from the south to the north through the day, he said.

Rain will continue tonight before the area gets a break into tomorrow morning. Many parts of the area will stay dry for several hours tomorrow, but the chance for showers to return does exist in the afternoon, Wirdzek said.

Steadier rain moves in on Sunday. This will last into Monday, with potentially a thunderstorm, all driven by a significant and organized storm system, he said. The rain may briefly end as sleet or light snow Monday afternoon.

Weather through the weekend will remain mild. Highs will be in the mid-50s today, upper 40s tonight, low 50s tomorrow and in the mid-50s on Sunday, Wirdzek said.
