Remembering classmate who died in fall

By Steve.Baker@CMGOhio.com

PIQUA, Ohio —

Classmates of  Malisa DeLaSancha gathered in the parking lot of the Kid's Learning Place in Piqua Thursday afternoon to say their "good byes" to Malisa in song, poetry, with a tree dedicated to her, and lots of colorful balloons launched sky high.

Malisa died April 14th several days after she fell down a set of steps.

Her mon's ex-boyfriend, Travis Gauldin of Troy, is charged with murder and is currently being held in the Miami County jail awaiting a trial. He has admitted to police that he "caused"  her to  fall down the steps.

Malisa's mother, Mandy Kolker of Piqua told reporters that she "seeks justice for Malisa." She appreciated the efforts of the Head Start Program to remember and honor her daughter.
