The State Highway Patrol has released the results from last week's multi-post enforcement effort aimed at making interstates safer.

The Dayton Post along with posts from Marysville, Piqua, Springfield and Wapakoneta focused enforcement efforts on Interstates 70 and 75 in Montgomery, Miami,Shelby, Auglaize and Clark counties.

Troopers said during the course of the enforcement effort, which ran Jan. 26-27, they made 557 traffic stops.

Troopers issued 99 seat belt citations, 191 speeding citations and 245 moving violation citations.

They said 74 aggressive driving violations were also issued.

Troopers said focusing their enforcement efforts helps them prevent crashes and remove aggressive drivers from their roadways.
