RTA Adds Buses For Dayton Fireworks At Riverscape

DAYTON, Ohio —

The RTA is adding 12 additional city buses to help accommodate crowds leaving Dayton’s fireworks display on Sunday, July 3 at RiverScape MetroPark. 

Buses will park in two rows at a special staging area on Monument Avenue between Jefferson and Main streets. Routes 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 12 will leave at 10:45 p.m. after the fireworks display ends. Each extra bus will be clearly marked with route number and destination.

The regularly scheduled city and county line-up will still take place at Wright Stop Plaza Transit Center at 11:15 p.m. Extra RTA staff will be on hand to assist customers at both locations.

Destinations for the added buses are:

Route 1 West: West Third St. and Iona Route 1 East: East Third St. and Wright State University Route 2 West: Lexington Ave. to Northwest Transit Center Route 2 East: East Fifth St. to Eastown Transit Center Route 4 West: Delphos/Hoover/Townview to Westown Transit Center Route 7 North: Main St. to Philadelphia Dr. Route 8 North: Salem Ave. to Northwest Transit Center Route 8 South: Lakeview to Westown Transit Center Route 9 North: Greenwich Village to Northwest Transit Center Route 12 North: Five Oaks to Good Samaritan Hospital

RTA will follow a Sunday schedule on Monday, July 4 and will resume normal schedules Tuesday, July 5.
