FRANKLIN —

A seat belt was credited for preventing serious injuries or even death Wednesday in a rollover crash on Interstate 75.

A tire blew out on a white Chevrolet sport utility vehicle traveling south on I-75 near the Ohio 73 exit in Franklin at approximately 5 p.m.

The blow out caused the vehicle to veer off into the median where it rolled a couple of times before coming to rest in a culvert.

The driver was uninjured. His mother arrived on scene and told News Center 7 she was thankful everyone was OK.

The Ohio Highway Patrol trooper said the driver was wearing his seat belt, otherwise he would likely have suffered serious, even fatal injuries.
