Semi rear-ends Clark County school bus

HUSTEAD, Ohio —

A man driving a commercial semi-truck rear ended a Clark County school bus on Wednesday.

The Springfield Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating the minor injury crash that happened on U.S. 68 just north of State Route 794.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. when the truck, driven by 25-year-old Kyle Caraway of Cedarville, collided with a Greenon Local School District bus driven by Adele Carter.

The school bus was traveling south on U.S. 68 and had just stopped to pick up a student. Officials said the driver of the Bob Evans truck failed to stop with assured clear distance ahead, and rear-ended the bus.

The school bus driver received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. The students on the bus were checked out by local EMS and only minor injuries were reported. The truck driver was not hurt.

Kyle Caraway was charged at the scene with Failure to Maintain Assured Clear Distance Ahead, and was summoned into the Clark County Municipal Court.
