Sheriff’s office investing sexual activity on school bus

CLARK COUNTY —

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident of alleged sexual activity between three middle school students while on a Tecumseh Local Schools bus.

The sheriff’s office is trying to determine whether two female students were forced to engage in the activity with a male student. The females are 12 and 11 years old. The male is 14, according to an incident report.

The report states that deputies were dispatched to Tecumseh Middle School on Jan. 22 to meet with the principal after he learned of the alleged activity from other people.

The incident was not reported by the students allegedly involved.

“It is unclear if either of the victims were forced to do this,” the report states. When deputies were at the school, they did not speak to any of the students reportedly involved.

The principal did question at least one of the female students believed to be involved.

Deputies said on Tuesday the investigation is in its early stages.

“We want to make sure there’s a good forensic interview and that we ensure the well-being of the child before we proceed forward and further,” said sheriff’s Lt. Chris Clark.

Tecumseh Superintendent Bradley Martin said the district is waiting on the sheriff’s office to complete its investigation. He said the incident could have taken place as early as in the first two weeks of December.

“Tecumseh schools makes make student well-being and student safety a top priority,” he said. “We reported the allegations to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and will take disciplinary action if their investigation warrants it.”

Martin said the students are to not to be near each other on the bus while the investigation is active.
