Sidney Mobile Home Fire Ruled Accidental

By Steve Baker

SIDNEY, Ohio —

Fire investigators said a mobile home fire in the 1200 block of Cinnamon Ridge Lane in Sidney has been ruled accidental, but authorities said the origin of the fire remains under investigation

When firefighters arrived they found heavy flames. The home owner escaped without injury.

The alarm sounded shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire officials requested mutual aid from the Anna and Shelby County fire departments. The home owner's sister, Margaret Williams, said she was glad they were there.

"I just give kudos to the Sidney police department, the fire chief. I'm not close to this a lot. I heard about it, read about it, seen some, but haven't been this close in eight or nine years. So, when it hits home, you totally appreciate what they do for us."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
