Smoke Damages Fort Loramie-Area Home

SHELBY COUNTY, Ohio —

Fire officials from Fort Loramie said firewood, stacked to close too a woodburning stove is to blame for a residential basement fire Monday night in rural Shelby County.

The fire was at 7571 Hoying Road near Fort Loramie.

There were no injuries.

Heavy smoke was coming from the house when firefighters from Fort Lorami, Minster, New Bremen, Kettlersville and Shelby County Fire responded to the alarm at 9:15 p.m.

There was considerable smoke damage throughout the house, said Assistant Fort Loramie Fire Chief Ken Meyer.
