SPRINGFIELD, Ohio —

Police said someone backed an SUV into a Springfield Best Buy Tuesday morning in an attempted break-in, by ramming the vehicle into a loading dock door.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers received an alarm from the store at 1209 North Bechtle Avenue, according to reports. On scene, officers said they found that a Dodge Durango SUV had backed into the store’s mobile installation center where car stereos are installed.

The SUV was stuck inside the store after it hit and bent a pole, according to police. Those responsible jumped out of the vehicle, fled the scene and have not been located, police said.

News Center 7 has a crew on the scene. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
