A former Troy teen, more recently a resident of St. Paris is in the Miami County Jail in Troy Saturday night, ending a 24 hour search for the suspect.

He is 18-year-old Kody Francis. He was booked into the jail on charges of aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence. He was arretsed Saturday night by St. Paris police in Champaign County. He was then transported to Troy Police Department by St. Paris officers and turned over to detectives.

He is charged with a mid-week armed robbery at a gas station on West Market Street.

Troy police Detective Chris Tilley described Francis as "courteous" and "scared". He asked for a lawyer, thus he was not questioned by Troy police as of Saturday night.

He was immediately taken to jail after first being photographed and finger printed at Troy police headquarters.

Police received numerous telephone tips from people who called police after viewing the in-store surveillance video on NewsCenter 7. Some of the callers even identifed Francis by name after seeing the video.

When asked why he robbed the station gas, Francis told NewsCenter 7's Northern Bureau Chief Steve Baker, "No comment."  He then ignored other questions asked of him by Baker as Francis was escorted to the jail in handcuffs.
