Teens Injured In Clark Co. Crash

CLARK COUNTY, Ohio —

Two teenagers are in serious condition after the SUV they were in went airborne and flipped end-over-end several times.

The crash happened on Selma Pike just south of Shawnee High School around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Troopers believe 16-year-old Abby Wilt lost control of her vehicle just as she came over a hill on Selma Pike.

Reporter Mark Bruce asked Trooper Douglas Bitler of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, "Would you say there was a high rate of speed involved?"

"Yeah, there was a pretty good amount of speed," said Trooper Bitler.

Wilt and her passenger, 17-year-old Taylor Haggy, were seriously injured and taken to Miami Valley Hospital by Carefight.

Troopers believe only one of the girls was wearing a seat belt.

At this point, investigators do not know where the girls were going. The teens do not attend Shawnee High School.

The crash is still under investigation.
