The Dayton Ballet - November 29, 2009

This episode of WHIO Reports highlights the Dayton Ballet’s current season. Dermot Burke, the Ballet’s Director, and Susan Kettering, the President of the Board of Trustees, discussed the art form, and what this company has to offer the public. Ballet offers an alternate form of family entertainment, and the excitement of knowing anything can happen in a live performance. “Dracula” is just finishing up its run on stage, and now dancers are starting rehearsals for “The Nutcracker.” The holiday classic will run December 11-20 at the Schuster Center, and there will be special father-daughter dinner events to compliment the show. Next year, the company plans to showcase some new music and choreography through an interactive contest, in hopes of breaking down the stigma against traditional art forms like ballet. Guests: Dermot Burke, Director The Dayton Ballet Susan Kettering, President The Dayton Ballet Board of Trustees

For tickets, patrons can go to Ticket Center Stage or call the box office.
