Thousands Lose Power In Dayton, Lightning May Be To Blame

Thousands of customers in Dayton lost power for a little over an hour Tuesday night.

A spokesperson for Dayton Power and Light said around 5,000 customers lost power for about an hour after lightning hit a power line in the area of Smithville Road and Watervliet Avenue.

The line was knocked to the ground.

No one was injured.
