KETTERING, Ohio —
According to her husband, Tiffany left their Xenia home, at 224 Colorado Drive, around 8:30 a.m. Saturday and was headed out to shop for clothes for their 1-year-old daughter.
About an hour later, at 9:26 a.m. Tiffany was still in Xenia and withdrew money from an ATM at Security National Bank at 82 North Allision Avenue. She was captured on surveillance video.
Between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday, Tiffany used her cell phone and called her husband as she left The Greene. David Tehan said everything seemed normal in what turned out to be his last conversation with her.
David Tehan said, “She had just finished up at The Greene, bought some things. She was getting ready to head across the street to see what else could find before she came home.”
David Tehan said his wife was on her way to the nearby Kettering Recreation Center for its Baby Bargain Boutique sale. A spokesperson at the recreation center said the annual sale was held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
At 9 p.m. Saturday, David Tehan, called police and reported his wife missing after repeated attempts to reach her.
He said, “Her cell phone is apparently turned off. She doesn’t answer it. It goes straight to voicemail.”
Police said around 9 a.m. Sunday, Tiffany’s green Ford Explorer was found abandoned at Indian Ripple Park on East Stroop Road, within walking distance of the Kettering Recreation Center.
On Monday, police released a photo of Tehan as she withdrew money from an ATM at Security National Bank in Xenia. Then, on Tuesday, Xenia police released a photo of Tehan and a man who is considered a person of interest in the case.
On the evening of April 20, police received information that led them to the identity of the man who is considered a person of interest in the case. He is Tre Hutcherson, of Dayton.
On Wednesday, April 21, the FBI has joined the search for Tehan and Hutcherson. Also, the search for the two has gone nationwide with national television exposure on CBS, ABC, NBC and CNN.
On Wednesday night, April 21, the red Volkswagen Beetle that belonged to Hutcherson was found in north Dayton.
Then, on Thursday morning, April 22, Tehan and Hutcherson were found safe in the Miami-Beach, Florida area.
On Wednesday, May 12, prosecutors announced that no charges, felony or misdemeanor will be filed against Tehan.
